Ed Brickley is a lifelong Hoosier, experienced law enforcement professional, and conservative Republican candidate for Indiana House District 58.

Born and raised in central Indiana, Brickley graduated from Southport High School and the Indianapolis Police Department Training Academy before being sworn in as a full-time officer in April 1991. He later completed advanced leadership training through the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Leadership Academy, where he was selected as class speaker.

Brickley served more than thirty years with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, building a distinguished career that began on patrol and progressed into complex criminal investigations and command leadership. During his tenure, he investigated narcotics trafficking, aggravated assaults, homicides, and arson, serving as a lead homicide investigator on fourteen cases and assisting in more than fifty homicide investigations with a 90 percent clearance rate.

He was named one of IMPD’s first Master Detectives and later served as Downtown District Detective Sergeant, overseeing investigative operations, staffing, and crime trend analysis. Brickley also served as Metro Southeast District Crime Strategist, coordinating emergency management, crime reduction initiatives, and interagency task forces across an 89-square-mile district with nearly 200 merit officers. He remains the only patrol officer ever selected to serve as a District Executive Director.

Throughout his career, Brickley earned numerous commendations recognizing courage, professionalism, and leadership, including the IPD Medal of Valor, IPD Purple Heart Award, IMPD Medal of Merit, IMPD Operations Division Investigative Officer of the Year, multiple Officer of the Month awards, and public safety commendations from the Indianapolis Fire Department and American Red Cross. In 1994, Brickley was shot twice during a traffic stop while on duty, an experience that shaped his leadership approach and commitment to officer safety.

After retiring from law enforcement, Brickley continued serving the community as a licensed real estate broker and a substitute teacher with Center Grove Schools. He has also dedicated nearly two decades to mentoring young people as a volunteer football coach and board member with the Center Grove Bantam Football Program, and as a coach at Center Grove Middle School North and Center Grove High School.

Brickley is a member of the National Rifle Association and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 86, and is also affiliated with the American Legion, Greenwood Moose Lodge, and Indiana Masonic Grand Lodge.

Ed and his wife, Maria, have been married for more than thirty years. They have three sons and two grandchildren and live in Greenwood, where they are active members of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.

As our next State Representative, Ed Brickley is dedicated to upholding the values that make Indiana strong: faith, family, hard work, and personal responsibility. Ed is a husband, father, retired police officer, and concerned citizen, not a career politician, and he is ready to bring common-sense conservative leadership to the Statehouse.

Ed’s pillars for success include:

  • Defending faith, family, and personal freedoms, and pushing back against government overreach
  • Keeping schools focused on student success, with transparency and strong parental involvement, not political agendas
  • Prioritizing public safety and standing with law enforcement, first responders, and victims
  • Protecting the Second Amendment, the sanctity of life, and all constitutional rights and freedoms
  • Lowering taxes and promoting fiscal responsibility to benefit homeowners, small businesses, farmers, and working families

Ed also believes in limited government that lives within its means, accountable leadership that respects taxpayers, and laws that put Indiana families first, not special interests or bureaucrats in Indianapolis.

With decades of real-world experience and deep roots in the community, Ed Brickley will be an unwavering conservative voice for Hoosiers who want safe neighborhoods, strong families, and a government that works for the people, not the other way around.
